Biography - Noel Marcano

 Noel Marcano graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance and earned a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music.
 
In the summer of 2008, he won second prize in the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Audition Competition held at ClarinetFest in Kansas City, Missouri.
 
He was a frequent substitute clarinetist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra and in 2002 performed as soloist with the orchestra. In 2007, he was clarinet soloist with the College-Conservatory’s Wind Symphony as winner of the concerto competition.
 
In 2009 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard Band where he currently serves as assistant principal chair.
 
His principal teachers include Richard Hawley, Kathleen Jones, and Ricardo Morales.
